A simple loop I wrote when I was 16. It‘s still the first thing I play when I pick up the guitar.

Inspired by a cliché seen on Inchydoney Beach, Ireland. Waves hitting the rocks, sunset, beautiful woman walking beside me. Mothernature natural rhythm.

I really wanted to re-record this track after listening back to it but my heart told me not to. The information, ‘the vibe’, had already been created. Cascading notes always remind me of being a child at a fairground and I wanted to recreate this carefree feeling in this piece.

What can I say? A happy accident!!

A clearly unstable gentleman found great entertainment in trying his best to humiliate me before a gig in Courins, Australia, about 6 years ago. I was asked if I’d like to get up and ‘jam’ and was quickly approached by a drunken guy asking me what style I played. The first thing that came to mind was Blues. Feeling the need to fill my boots in a bar full of Aussy bickers I stepped up only to be pushed aside by the afore mentioned gentleman. He grabs the mic and shouts; ‘hey listen up, this Pommy little bastard’s gonna play ‘The nervous Blues’!

A scene of momentary madness outside Wheelan’s in Dublin. What looked like a squad car grinded to a halt in front of Gavin (Moore) and myself. Out jumped a bunch of guys carrying metal cases. The guy with the cases in mad panic ran towards a door at the side of the road, then realised they had the wrong address, then the panic stopped! Casually they got back into the car and drove off.

I always wanted a piece like this. This was inspired by many of the great folk guitarists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting throughout my life.

Inspired by a journey to Baltimore, West Cork. Struggling to thumb a lift, I had no choice but to walk and absorb the local scenery.

A small piece of the imaginary soundtrack to my teenage years, strolling through the streets of North West England.

A name picked out of the air! If I had to, I would dedicate this to a horse that lost its life in a freak accident near Clonakilty recently.
